Go Fish Online

A little luck. A good memory. One nice catch.

Play Go Fish online for free against Sarah and Alex, two computer opponents. Collect matching cards, remember what other players ask for, and try to finish with the most books. This classic card game works right in your browser on a phone, tablet, or computer, with no download or registration.

How to Play Go Fish

  1. Pick a rank in your hand. Tap or click a card group, such as your 7s. The highlighted border shows your selection.
  2. Choose an opponent. Tap Sarah or Alex to ask for every card they hold of that rank. If they have any, they give them all to you and you ask again.
  3. Go fishing if they have none. Draw one card from the deck. Draw the rank you asked for and you get a “Nice catch!” and another turn. Otherwise, play passes to the next player.
  4. Make books. All four cards of the same rank become a book automatically. Keep collecting until every book is complete.

You can use Tab to move between card groups and opponents, and Enter or Space to select them. A brief first-turn tip guides you through your first request; you can skip it at any time.

How Do You Win?

The player with the most books wins. A book is all four suits of one rank: for example, 7♠, 7♥, 7♦, and 7♣. Each book scores one point, whether it is made of aces, numbers, or face cards. There are 13 books in a standard deck. If players share the highest score, they tie.

A Small Memory Tip

If Sarah asks Alex for queens, you know Sarah holds at least one queen at that moment. If you have a queen on your next turn, asking Sarah may be a good move. Watch transfers and completed books too: a clue can become outdated as cards move around the table. Follow each request and result in the Current Action area beside the deck. Open “Game History” to review previous moves.

How many cards do you start with in Go Fish?

In this three-player game, everyone starts with five cards. The remaining cards stay in the draw pile. Two-player Go Fish commonly starts with seven cards each.

It means they have none of the rank you asked for. Draw a card if the deck has any left. If it matches your request, ask again; otherwise your turn ends.
