    Flip a Coin Online

Select Flip coin to toss one virtual coin instantly. This free coin flipper needs no download or signup. Results appear as text as well as on the coin, so you do not need sound or animation to use it.

    Heads or Tails

A coin has two sides: heads and tails. Before you flip, agree which option each side represents. For example, heads could mean you go first, while tails means your friend starts.

Is This Coin Flip Really 50/50?

Yes. Each flip uses your browser's cryptographic random-number generator to choose between two equally likely outcomes: 50% heads and 50% tails. The animation only displays the result; it does not influence which side wins.

Every flip is independent. A run of heads does not make tails more likely next, and a batch of ten flips is not guaranteed to contain five of each.

When to Use a Coin Flip

Decide who starts a board game, choose between two snacks, settle a friendly choice, or try a probability experiment without finding a physical coin. Keep coin flips for simple, low-stakes decisions.

    Best-of-three coin flip

Choose Best of three to run a short series. The first side to appear twice wins. Heads, heads ends the series at 2–0; heads, tails, tails ends it at 1–2 with tails winning. Each series takes two or three flips, and both sides have an equal chance of winning.

    Flip multiple coins at once

In Single or multiple coins mode, enter any quantity from 1 to 100. Flip 2 coins for a pair of outcomes, 10 for a quick experiment, or 100 for a larger sample. Every coin is selected independently; the results show each flip and the batch's heads/tails counts.

Session totals include all flips, including best-of-three rounds. Copy the latest batch, review the last ten batches, or clear results to start over. Reloading the page clears the session.

    Try a simple probability experiment

First flip 10 coins and count the heads. Then flip 100. Compare the proportions rather than the raw counts: 6 heads out of 10 is 60%, while 53 out of 100 is 53%. Larger samples tend to approach 50% over time, but no individual batch is guaranteed to split evenly.

    Coin Flip FAQ

How do I flip a coin online?

Leave the quantity at one and select Flip coin. Your heads or tails result appears immediately below the button.

Is an online coin flip random?

This coin flipper uses your browser's cryptographic random-number generator. Each result is chosen independently of previous flips.

    Is heads or tails 50/50?

Yes, each side has a 50% chance on every flip here. Short runs can be uneven: even after five heads, the next flip still has an equal chance of either side.

Can I use a coin flip to make a decision?

Yes. Assign one option to heads and the other to tails before flipping. Use it for everyday choices and games, rather than important decisions that need careful thought.

Can I flip the coin multiple times?

Yes. Select Flip coin again, enter a quantity from 1 to 100, or choose Best of three. You can review recent draws and session totals, or copy the latest results.
