How to Play Cat Merge
- Find a pair. Tap a cat, then an identical cat directly above, below, left or right of it. The pair becomes the next evolution. You can also drag one onto the other.
- Make room. Move a cat to any empty space to bring a pair together. Every successful move or merge brings one new cat into the garden, except every third merge: that earns a free space with no new arrival. The next arrival is shown above the board.
- Keep growing. Merging earns points; moving alone does not. A full garden is still playable if two matching neighbors remain. The round ends when there are no empty spaces and no neighboring pairs, or when you discover the final cat.
On a keyboard, Tab to a space and press Enter or Space to select it. Use the arrow keys to move between spaces, then Enter or Space to choose a destination. Escape clears your selection. There is no timer, so take your time.
Discover Every Cat
Twelve original personalities live in this cat evolution game. A Tiny Kitten becomes a Playful Kitten, then a Curious Cat. Beyond the cozy Fluffy Cat are adventurers, spellcasters and some much less ordinary residents. The final evolution stays a surprise until you find it.
Each first discovery adds a portrait to your Cat Collection. Open the collection below the board to see familiar faces and the silhouettes still waiting to be revealed. Later arrivals become higher-level cats as you reach new evolutions in the current round, helping you build toward your next discovery.
Cat Merge Tips
- Merge before moving. A merge frees a space for the next arrival. Moving into an empty space uses up room when the new cat appears.
- Check your neighbors. Diagonal cats cannot merge. Choose a destination that leaves the new evolution near another cat of the same level.
- Watch the next arrival. It may create a useful pair. Its landing space is chosen by the game, so leave several options open.
- Protect your empty spaces. Keep high-level cats near the edges when possible, leaving the center available for connecting smaller pairs.
