BACK TO SCHOOL WORD SEARCH

A back to school word search, free to play here and free to print with an answer key. Useful for the first week of term, a supply lesson, or a settling activity while you take the register.

The easy level is the vocabulary of the room itself — desk, chair, ruler, pencil, crayon. Words a child sees written on things all day, which is precisely why they are good for early reading practice: the puzzle is about recognising a shape you already half know rather than working out a word for the first time.

The harder level is the vocabulary of the system — CURRICULUM, PROTRACTOR, STATIONERY, SEMESTER. Words that live on letters home and timetables, and that a surprising number of adults hesitate over before spelling.

HOW TO PLAY

PRINT IT

Press Print this puzzle — or just Ctrl‑P — and you'll get the grid exactly as it is on screen, with the word list underneath and a full answer key on a second sheet. Generate a new grid first if you'd like a different one; whatever is on screen is what prints. No account, no watermark, nothing to download.
