DRAW FROM A NUMBER

Every drawing here starts as a number you already know how to write. Add three more sets of lines and it turns into an animal. Four steps, one sheet, free to print — no download and no signup.

2️⃣

Swan from a 2

The curve of a 2 is already a swan's neck. Add a beak, a body and some water.

8️⃣

Owl from an 8

An 8 is a head sitting on a body. Add two big eyes, ear tufts and a branch.

How it works

Each guide shows four boxes. Everything you have already drawn appears in grey, and the lines to add next appear in colour — so you never have to work out which part is new. Press print and all four steps come out on one sheet in black and white.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes, to view and to print, with no signup and nothing to download.

What do I need?
Paper and a pencil. The printed sheet is black and white on purpose, so it works on any printer.

Can I use these in a classroom?
Yes. Print as many copies as you like.

Why start from a number?
Because a blank page is the hard part. Starting from a shape you can already draw from memory means the first line is never the one that stops you.
